Here’s another addendum to the body of knowledge about Acemannan, the patented stabilized extract from the aloe plant.

The assumption that many people make is that since Acemannan is so efficacious, they conclude that they can go to the health food store and pick from a hodgepodge of aloe products and by consuming it, they will contribute to adding good doses of Acemannan to their body. Au contraire (on the contrary) I know, not very good French, so let’s quickly go to the slides.

As you see on the far left graph, the majority of all aloe-based products you find in the health food store are not stabilized to preserve Acemannan efficacy. Therefore, they contain little to no Acemannan. Therefore, the less than 1% identification mark. We won’t actually say that there is absolutely no Acemannan in these aloe products, but it is safe to say that there is less than 1%.

Dr. Bill McAnally, one of the patent holders of the original Acemannan, says in his book, The Science Behind Aloe, the Healing Plant, that improper manufacturing processes used by many aloe product manufacturers can produce aloe products with little or no Acemannan. Currently, manufacturers do not assay for Acemannan content in their final products. Assay means test. Manufacturers do not test for Acemannan content. However, all the impressive words are used when labeling and marketing aloe products.

For instance:

  • 100% stabilized aloe
  • Certified
  • Premium quality
  • Whole leaf
  • Purified

Now notice that they do use the word stabilized, but stabilized aloe is very different than stabilized Acemannan. You can be assured that because of the natural processes that occur, that Acemannan disappeared; it denatured from the aloe leaves long ago when they were harvested. And that’s the very leaves that are used to make these aloe products. That does not mean that there are no nutritional benefits. Just don’t expect Acemannan to be present.

We might take note that the term stabilized in this aloe category is only apropos to aloe products because they contain enough preservatives to control microbial growth. But Dr. McAnally points out that the large amounts of preservatives that are used to stabilize aloe have been shown to instantly kill fibroblasts and other cells in tissue culture. And that’s from a study he and another doctor published in 1983. A fibroblast is a cell with cytoplasmic processes present in connective tissue capable of forming collagen fibers.

This is the reason that during a recent knee injury, among other kinds of therapy, I increased my intake of Acemannan plus Acemannan helps with creating an increase in stem cells.

As you see in the middle graph, the first stabilized aloe products contain an average of 4% immune modulating fractions of Acemannan per gram. This is the product, the first iteration of Acemannan that Sam Castor took to market and to 26 nations of the world and distributed over $3 billion of it. He did this for 20 years from 1994 to 2014. This is the first iteration of Acemannan that came out of Carrington Laboratories. And a certain Dr. Santiago Rodriguez was present in those early days, and he came back in the picture. And by the way, this is the same Acemannan sent to the orphans in Romania in 1997 that got the life-saving ball rolling. I would encourage you to hear that story.

So Santiago Rodriguez, one of the early Acemannan scientists, tapped the wisdom of Korean research that was published in 2005. More on that later. And he went back to the lab and with the advances in technology since the original stabilization of Acemannan some 30 years before, he developed a whole new process for extracting and stabilizing Acemannan. And the results were incredible. He came up with a product that had nearly twice the total Acemannan per gram with almost four and a half times more immune activating fractions.

So as is indicated on the right graph, what is called the Aloe Vera AE, the Acemannan extract, contains an average of 18% of the best immune optimizing fractions, four and a half times more efficacious than the first iteration. MannaRelief and Alovea have exclusive rights of distribution in the market to this second iteration of Acemannan. They are using this technology as the lead product, the core technology, in building a social business 3.0 platform. This means they fund the MannaRelief mission by mobilizing a for-profit nutraceutical company, Alovea that enters the direct sales market with proprietary nutritional technology using the buy one, nourish one strategy and compensates promoters for market results that creates direct impact on vulnerable children.
